Volunteer Coach Code of Conduct
As a volunteer coach with The Golden Knights FC, I understand that I play a vital role in shaping the character and experience of our young athletes. I agree to abide by the following expectations and standards:
I will maintain a respectful, encouraging, and inclusive environment for all players.
I will lead by example, demonstrating good sportsmanship and self-control on and off the field.
I will avoid profanity, yelling, or any form of aggressive behavior.
I will prioritize the physical and emotional safety of all participants.
I will never be alone with a player without another adult present.
I will communicate any injuries, concerns, or behavioral issues to the club manager promptly.
I will not tolerate bullying or discriminatory behavior in any form.
I will show up on time and prepared for practices and games I commit to.
If I am unable to attend a session, I will give timely notice to the club manager or lead coach.
I will support the club’s training philosophy and age-appropriate development goals.
I will maintain appropriate boundaries with all players and families.
I will not discuss playing time or strategy during games—these conversations will be reserved for scheduled times.
I will handle conflicts respectfully and involve the club manager if needed.
I understand that I may be subject to a background check and must complete any necessary forms or training (e.g., child safety, first aid).
I understand that failure to uphold this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from my volunteer position.
Volunteer Coach Agreement
Dear Coach,
Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer coach with The Golden Knights FC. We are excited to have you support our mission of providing a positive, developmental soccer experience for youth in our community.
This agreement outlines your role and expectations:
You will assist with practices and/or games for an assigned team, under the guidance of a lead coach or club manager. Your focus will be on player development, safety, and promoting good sportsmanship.
We ask that you:
Attend practices and games you commit to
Communicate scheduling conflicts in advance
Follow the club’s coaching philosophy and safety procedures
Before beginning, you must:
Submit to a background check
Sign the Volunteer Coach Code of Conduct
Complete any additional onboarding requested
This is an unpaid volunteer position and may be ended by either party at any time. Your time and effort are sincerely appreciated, and we look forward to working with you to make this season a success.
